|
These are my Appaloosas; First is Jade's Bonita Ace; nickname-The Scarlet Witch.

Even though I'm not Nez Perce, & my name is Irish; I'm Blackfeet/Iroquois Indian; Irish & French. My passion is to save & develop these horses in the manner used by the Nez Perce. I presently live on an Indian Reservation & breed Appaloosa Horses to preserve the history & the glory of these beautiful horses. My Indian name is Mistaiahkee; or Ghost Woman.

My interest in Appaloosas comes from my Native American background & heritage. The Nez Perce Warriors developed the finest war horse in the world; so feared by the US army that the horses were sought out & killed. When Chief Joseph, Nez Perce leader, surrendered, most of the horses that bravely carried the warriors; women & children & goods were run off of cliffs. The rest were used as target practice. The Army believed that they had been wiped out. Fortunately, some escaped to carry on their glorious heritage & celebrate the Plains Indian's way of life.
